Working in Dubai

What Dubai companies ask us for.

Dubai is home to more licensed companies than any other emirate, and to the country’s busiest free zones. That brings variety: a trading LLC in Deira, a consultancy in IFZA, a logistics company in JAFZA and a DMCC commodities trader all have different filing rules and different readers for their audit report.

We work with all of them. Mainland companies come to us for the annual statutory audit, corporate tax and VAT. Free zone companies usually start with the audit report their authority asks for at renewal, then add bookkeeping and tax once they see how much easier the next year becomes.

The short answer

Does your company need an audit in the UAE?

In most cases, yes. Three separate rules can make an audit compulsory, and many companies fall under more than one of them.

  • Free zone companies

Most free zones, including DMCC, JAFZA and DAFZ, ask for audited financial statements every year before they renew the licence.

  • Corporate tax payers

Audited statements are mandatory once revenue passes AED 50 million, and for every Qualifying Free Zone Person whatever its size.

  • Mainland LLCs

The Commercial Companies Law requires a licensed auditor and accounting records kept for at least five years.

Ask on WhatsApp

Do you have an office in Dubai?

Yes. Our office is at Al Shafar Investment Building 121, Al Quoz Industrial Area 1, Dubai, open Saturday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

How much does an audit cost in Dubai?

The fee depends on turnover, the number of transactions and the state of the books, not on the emirate. After a short call we send a fixed quote in writing, agreed before any fieldwork starts.

Is an audit mandatory for companies in Dubai?

The rules are federal. Mainland LLCs must appoint a licensed auditor, most free zones ask for audited statements at renewal, and the corporate tax rules require them for businesses with revenue above AED 50 million and for every Qualifying Free Zone Person.
