DMCC only accepts audited financial statements from auditors it has approved. It keeps an official list of approved auditors on its website, and under its Approved Auditor Rules it may reject statements audited by a firm that is not on the list. Here is how to check an auditor, how firms get onto the list, and what DMCC expects from your audit each year.
How to check the DMCC approved auditors list
- Go to dmcc.ae/approved-auditors. It opens DMCC’s searchable list of approved auditors.
- Search for the firm’s name. The list shows each auditor’s DMCC account number, UAE address, email and phone number.
- Check that the legal name on the list matches the name on the audit firm’s licence and engagement letter.
Many websites republish older copies of the list, some from 2020 or 2023. Always check DMCC’s own page, because firms are added and removed.
Why the list matters
DMCC’s Approved Auditor Rules allow the authority to reject financial statements audited by a firm that is not approved, and to impose sanctions. The one exception is a branch whose accounts are audited by its group auditor. An audit from an unlisted firm can mean paying for a second audit, often close to the licence renewal date.
What DMCC requires every year
- Who: every DMCC company, including branches. Dormant companies are exempt from the audit.
- What: the audited financial statements and the auditor’s signed and stamped Summary Sheet. DMCC reads the Summary Sheet automatically, so the figures must match the statements.
- Where: the Compliance Services section of the DMCC Member Portal.
- When: within six months of the financial year end, or any other period DMCC sets.
How auditors get onto the list
According to DMCC’s guidance note, an audit firm applies online and pays a registration fee of AED 1,000 plus an annual renewal fee. It must hold a Ministry of Economy auditing certificate and a UAE licence, and have a physical office in the UAE.
The corporate tax angle
A DMCC company that wants the 0% corporate tax rate as a Qualifying Free Zone Person must also prepare and keep audited financial statements, whatever its revenue, under Ministerial Decision No. 84 of 2025. In practice, the same annual audit serves DMCC and the Federal Tax Authority, so it pays to plan it once.
